Catherine Walker Green Day Dress

fits Franklin Mint Diana Portrait Doll

Catherine Walker silk day dress, ordered in 1990 for a state tour of Africa. It was in the national colors of Nigeria, and was worn at the arrival there in March with Philip Sommerville hat.(Right - small photo). More famously, Diana wore it in 1992, during a visit to a mosque near Cairo. (Left) She was careful to observe Islamic protocol by wearing a dress with a long hemline and sleeves, covering her head, and going barefoot. It became a staple of her day wardrobe, going to the Trooping of the Color (with hat) in 1990, on a state visit to Hungary in May of 1990, and (Right) dressed up again, at the wedding of her old flatmate, Virginia Pitman, in 1991. Diana reportedly always wore a previously-seen outfit to weddings, so that she wouldn't detract attention from the bride.

Made from 100% cotton.

(Left) - with accompanying chiffon scarf. (Scarf color may vary with availability). Shown with the watch from the Casual Khaki outfit.

(Right) - with matching hat and white pleather bag.
