Variant of "Hyde Park" Cocktail Suit

fits Franklin Mint Diana Portrait Doll

Diana wore a somewhat similar outfit to an evening event in January, 1990, (left) a concert at London's Festival Hall by the City of London Sinfonia and London Symphony Chorus, of which Diana was patron. She also wore it a year later in Birmingham (right)at a charity concert for Turning Point, of which she was also patron. I believe this is a sleeveless lace-covered dress with a jacket with matching lace-covered sleeves.

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl People’s Princess Doll uses the lace skirt from the Hyde Park Cocktail suit and a different jacket, this one collarless. It has lace covered sleeves to match the skirt, tiny satin pocket flaps (as did the original), and small rhinestone buttons. There's also a small modesty panel to mimic the top of the dress. Shown with the earrings from the Franklin Mint Diana, Princess of Style porcelain doll and the shoes and hose from the Princess of Glamour vinyl doll.
