Hat for the Light Blue Suit

fits Franklin Mint Diana Portrait Doll

Diana wore this suit with the hat at William's confirmation in March, 1997. Since her separation and divorce, she no longer had the official engagements that required hats, but felt this occasion demanded one. Not only was it a significant religious step in her son's life, but also would be attended by the royal family, and Diana felt it important to dress appropriately to show that, even if she wasn't officially part of 'the firm' any longer, she was still the mother of the future king. It was made by her long-time milliner Philip Sommerville, and was the last hat he made for her.

Designer's sketch.

Pillbox-style hat, made and lined with the same fabrics as the suit. Availability depends on availability of fabric - please ask!
