Black Chanel Suit

fits Franklin Mint Diana Portrait Doll

Diana wore this black wool crepe suit from Chanel repeatedly for sad events, both public and personal. It was worn for the funeral of her father, Earl Spencer, in 1992 (left), and for that of her grandmother, Ruth, Lady Fermoy, in 1993 (right). It also went to the funeral of Emperor Hirohito in 1989, and of her friend Adrian Ward-Jackson in 1991. The black straw hat is from Philip Sommerville.

Black linen blend suit, with satin trim on collar, cuffs, and pocket, and brass stud trim on the jacket. Fully lined. Black pleather belt with buckle. Matching hat trimmed in satin ribbon both on the front brim and also around the crown, with bow in back as the original (sorry, you can't see it in the photo). Sleeveless shell of polyester has stand-up collar and front pleat. Shoulder handbag of leather and vinyl with brass trim as in original. Black gloves and hose available separately from Dollsecrets.
