Casual Sundress

fits Franklin Mint Kate Middleton Portrait Doll

One of the first Kate sightings after the birth of Prince Louis was in early June 2018, when she was spotted taking George and Charlotte to watch their father play in a polo match to raise funds for two of his charities, the Royal Marsden cancer hospital and Centrepoint, a homelessness charity. (Both of these, incidentally, were charities of his mother, Diana). She wore this easy fitting cotton/linen striped sundress from the Kensington High Street store, Zara.

It was reminiscent of an earlier occasion, when Diana wore a blue and white striped sundress to watch her husband play polo.

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll is made from blue and white striped shirting, and features the pleated and gathered bodice and wide neckline of the original, and small 'buttons'. The bodice is lined in white, and it fastens in the front with snaps and the attached sash belt. Shoes are borrowed from one of the Tonner Tyler Wentworth outfits (and they do NOT fit), and the sunglasses from the Franklin Mint Diana, the People's Princess Casual Khaki outfit.

I know this is not an exact reproduction, the color is wrong but it's the only blue and white stripe I could find that's even close, and I wanted this as a companion to the Diana blue and white striped sundress. When I get a better one I'll remake this, and add the bag.
