Suzannah Green Print Tea Dress

In July 2014 William and Kate took George to the Natural History Museum exhibit, Sensational Butterflies, where official photos were taken for his first birthday. (left). Kate wore a green print dress from the British designer Suzannah, one of many in their line of retro (pre-WWII era) inspired silk tea dresses. It was the first time the dress had been seen on its own, as Kate had previously worn it peeking out from underneath a green Erdem coat - first during the Cambridge's visit in New Zealand in April 2014, later in July when they and Harry opened the UK leg of the Tour de France (right).

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll is made from an actual 1930's vintage dress pattern, reduced to doll scale. The fabric is a green and white cotton print, and has the pleated cuffs, smocked bodice and asymmetric waistline of the original. The bodice is fully lined in white to prevent staining. Shoes from the Franklin Mint Kate Middleton Engagement Doll.
