Alessandra Richards Polka Dot Dress

For the official family photos for Prince Charles' 70th birthday, in keeping with an overall blue theme Kate chose this polka dot dark blue dress with white polka dots.

In silk crepe de chine, it was from the Spring 2018 collection of Alessandra Richards, which was described as having a 40's vibe inspired by the 1945 photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square. It was a popular dress worn by a lot of celebrities including Christie Brinkley and Daisy Ridley, and even showed up at the May wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, worn by the bride's co-star Abigail Spencer.

Kate wore this again in May of 2019, on a pre-D-Day visit to Bletchley Park (below, right). It originally retailed for a bit over $1,400.

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll is in a dark royal blue micro dot polyester blend with white silk collar and cuffs. The bodice is fully lined in white and closes in the front with snaps under small white buttons. Shoes from the Franklin Mint Kate Middleton Engagement Doll.
