'Nautical' Outfit

For public engagements related to her enjoyment of sporting and sailing, Kate has combined several of her favorite more casual and off-the-peg pieces. The skinny jeans, Zara polyester double breasted navy blazer with brass buttons, and ME+EM breton striped knit top made a good choice for sailing-related events, such as the yacht races she and William participated in during their New Zealand tour in April of 2014(left), and in July a year later in Portsmouth as patron of the 1851 Trust, which hopes to inspire young people via sailing.

The top and jeans worked off duty, too. In June of 2014 Kate wore them to take Prince George to his first polo match, to watch dad play on Father's Day.(right)

The recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll consists of the skinny denim jeans, breton striped knit top, and navy jacket. The jeans are a dark wash navy denim, and are fully lined in white to prevent staining. They close at the ankles with snaps, and are open at the bottom to accept the stand. The boatneck striped top is in navy and white striped cotton knit, has 3/4 sleeves, and fastens in the back with snaps. The double breasted jacket is in dark navy linen, fully lined in white, and features gold tone 'brass' buttons at the front and cuffs. The cuffs also fasten at the wrist with snaps, as does the front. Shown (left) with shoes borrowed from Tonner's Tyler Wentworth doll, and (right) with SnE's white moccasins.
