Jenny Packham Royal Wedding Banquet Gown

The first international duty for the newly minted Prince and Pricness of Wales was attending the wedding of the Crown Prince of Jordan in June 2023. In addition to this kind of kind of engagement being pretty standard for the heir to the British throne for decades, there was also a personal connection. Both princes spent time together during William's official visit to Jordan in 2018, Hussein's mother Queen Rania is a member of William's Earthshot Prize Council, Kate lived in Jordan as a toddler when her father's job with British Airways took him there, and the Wales took their family there for vacation in 2021.

For the wedding banquet (left)Kate chose a Jenny Packham 'Georgia' gown in dusty pink viscose with silver highlights. From the designers' 2019 line, it retailed for just over $4,000. (This seems to have been another popular 'princess' gown, as Crown Princess Mary of Denmark had worn the same gown for a magazine coer shoot and interview in early 2022). With the gown Kate wore the Queen's Family Order pin, the Queen Mary Lover's Knot tiara, and the Greville Chandelier Earrings, which feature diamonds in every modern cut. She also wore her badge and sash of the Royal Victorian Order, wth the sash being secured with a vintage Art Deco $17.000 diamond brooch that is rumored to have been a birthday present from either William or the new King. (The brooch caused some controvery when the price and new purchase was discovered, as Britain was in the midst of an exonomic crisis and Kate would now have access to the late Queen's famous trove of brooches anyway).

(Please note the photos are actually screen shots from a video. There seem to have been no photographers present at the event).

Kate wore it later that year in December to the annual royal Diplomatic Reception (right). It appears to be accessorized with exactly the same jewelty.

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll is in pink polyester shot throught with dilver threads. It has a column lining attached at the neck but free falling, and the overdress is unhemmed, both to allow the skirt of the dress to drape. Closes in the back with a cipper. Also features the diamontes at the neck and as a 'belt', as did the original. Includes the Royal Victorian Order sash and badge, and the sash comes with diamontes to approximate the pin Kate wore with it. Also includes pink satin clutch purse.

Shoes and tiara are from the Franklin Mint Diana the People's Princess doll, the shoes from the White Chiffon Dress, the Queen Mary tiara from the 'Travolta' gown. Earrings are borrowed from the Franklin Mint Jackie doll. The Queen's Family Order pin is from the Danbury Mint Royal Wardrobe, and the RVO pin is from a Danbury Mint Prince Charles doll.

(This actually looks so much better, unfortunately the color and silver highlights wash out under the flash and didn't photograph well)
