Buttercup Print Shift Dress

fits Franklin Mint Kate Middleton Portrait Doll

To bring home her new baby daughter, Kate once again turned to Jenny Packham (who had designed the blue polka dot dress she wore to bring home Prince George) for an appropriate dress. Kate left the Lindo Wing in this simple, easy fitting silk shift with 3/4 length sleeves, printed with gender-neutral yellow buttercups in a graduee print, close together at the top and then gradually becoming more and more sparse towards the hem.

Not suprisingly, given the "Kate Effect" on clothing sales, soon after a Chinese company came out with a knock-off version, in polyester.

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll is made from a cotton fabric I made in conjunction with an online fabric printing company, coming close to the graduated yellow floral print of the original. It is fully lined in white and closes in the back with snaps. Also includes a small post-baby bump. Shoes are borrowed from the Franklin Mint Diana, the People's Princess doll.
