Red Shift Dress with Lace Collar

fits Franklin Mint Kate Middleton Portrait Doll

Another baby for Kate and William, and another Jenny Packham tunic dress for Kate, who has worn bespoke dresses from the designer to bring home all her children from the hospital.

This one is in red with a white lace collar, and there have various theories as to any symbolism. One is that it echoes the red and white flag of St. George, patron saint of England, and little Prince Louis of Cambridge was, in fact, born on the Feast of St. George, April 23. Another is that it's an homage to Diana, Princess of Wales, who also wore red with white at the neckline to bring home her second son, Prince Harry.(below)

This recreation for the Franklin Mint vinyl Kate Middleton doll is made from red polyester, the body of the dress lined in white. The sleeves are unlined but have a white interfacing to prevent staining. It has a white lace Peter Pan collar, and closes in the back with snaps. Also includes a small post-baby bump. Shoes and earrings are borrowed from the Franklin Mint Diana, the People's Princess doll.
