Visit Our New Coast Guard Display!!         Lyle Gun: The Lyle gun is used for shooting a projectile to the beach or to another vessel when saving lives during sea disasters, falling through the ice, or stranded on a cliff.               Breeches Buoy: The Breeches buoy is a crude rope-based rescue device used to extract people from wrecked vessels, or to transport people from one location to another in situations of danger. The breeches buoy was usually deployed from either ship to ship, or ship to shore using a lyle gun, and allowed single person evacuations
