GALLERY and BUILD SUGGESTIONS
ASSEMBLY_ Assembled with Hot glue- I used a harbor freight 2 dual temp hot glue gun (High Low) Use the low setting. Glue gun and Pat Catan's Darice Transparent glue sticks. Note the balance point and mark it before removing the weight in the front of the plane, then change the balance with the battery location when your done. The best paint I have tried is a light coat of Fusion by Krylon FIK 60 and 80 I Glued the wing on with hot Glue. if you rubber band it on reinforce the area that the rubber band stresses The best looking and working hinge is the dubro small hinge, attach with a drop of hot glue, just medium size and press the hinge on with your thumb. The best spot I have found for the servos is behind the wing . I glued them in place for strength too. I cut the nose of the FIK 80 off 4" in front of the leading edge and gave it some down thrust. I glued on the Round lazertoyz plywood motor mount plate and a Firewall type aluminum mount that came with the motor. Smear some extra glue on the epp around the motor for extra strength. I used the 24 gram brushless motor and 10 Amp ESC. and a 800 Mah 20C Lipo battery. very easy construction. Flies great !! |

Place Motor Mount 3.5 " to 4" in front of leading edge of wing. Slight down thrust.

100 Build
Ok a few notes, the 100 has the EPP Hinge built-in so you do not have to make a rudder control surface or elevator control surface OR GLUE ON HINGES. This makes the process much faster. You do need to remove the copper wire imbedded in the hinge. This was for the guys who want it as a hand launch glider and enables the pilot to change the direction for hand launching. included are control wires (although rather wimpy) and Control horns and a motor mount plate for a tube mount that I did not use. I like the lazertoyz plywood Firewall mount. I placed the servos behind the wing and used coffee stirrer straws for guides for the control wires . it seem to help a lot as far as stiffening. I wanted to screw mount the wing so I used a X type servo arm and glued it in the body. and then used my solder iron (round type and burnt a hole all the way through the wing . You can do this with a heated wire too. Then I cut the body out for an X type servo arm and hot glued it in for the screw to have a nice nylon hole to hold on to. added a tongue to the front of the wing and used a wire to burn a slot in the body for the tongue to fit into. This keeps the front part of the wing from moving. Added some Krylon H2O orange paint and let it dry... Mounted the motor and ESC , add receiver and tested controls .. wow It's Done ! |
Front of Wing .. tongue glued in
and mating slot in fuselage. |
